Sunday July 1

1. We sold the plane last week. I looked in my log book and I had not flown it since July 7th, 2010. Almost 2 years and Tom only put an hour on it last year. I think when they looked at the logs on the plane in the 4 years we owned it we put on 100 hours and 30 hours of that was bringing the plane home so that divides out 70 hours over 4 years and we decided that it was not something we were going to do very much and the expense was silly for something that we did not use. So, we called  up the place we bought it from in Texas on Monday and he had two pilots fly up here on Thursday and they left on Friday with the plane signed, sealed and delivered. Paid off the loan with Cessna and that is one giant expense out of my hair (big sigh of relief).

2. But, we also had a plan when we sold that plane and that instead of the plane we would buy a house in Arizona. It makes sense if you consider how much time we spend down there and the cost of hotels and the flying back and forth ect. We are flying down this week to look at houses. Actually Tom is skydiving and I am looking at houses. We have 6 that we are looking at and I will narrow it down to 3 and then Tom will go look with me. We have done all the approval stuff and are ready to go but need to find the  house and lock in  a purchase offer. Adrienne, Jeff and Rainey are going with us.

3. Because most everything  down there is a short sale it could be as short as 30 days to as long as 4 months to actually close on the house. We are fine with that because we would just like to have the house by October 24th when Skydiving Nationals are this year since Tom will be on a 4 way team.

4. I am planning on another road trip over to St.George the end of October to visit relatives. Probably going to be bringing Adrienne and Rainey with me to visit. She is going to be living in the house and going to the University of Arizona Tucson. It is about an hour drive away which is pretty much the same as living in Palmer and driving to Anchorage to go to school just that the roads will not be snowy and icy. We will most likely stop in Las Vegas for Adrienne to gamble for a while and to take Rainey to see a show.

5. So we will not be in Alaska for the 4th of July but in Arizona swimming in the nice cold pool, tanning and looking at houses and going down to Tombstone and Bisbee. Time will go by fast but will be super fun.
