Lots to do

1. I think we have almost  3 acres of land between the 3 lots. The reason I am bringing this up is because I have been mowing or working on mowing these 3 acres. It is alot of work. We have a riding lawn mower but it is broken and we have two other push ones that are broken and neither one of us was interested in taking the time to get them over to the repair person this spring so we just went and bought another push one which is what I  have been using. Tom has been so busy this summer with work and then his arm problem and so it falls on me to get it done. The bad part is that is pretty overgrown and so takes a lot of time and effort to mow down the tall weeds. I spent last night in front of the cabin and the slope going down to the lake and then all around the dock area and it looks great. It was actually a bit windy outside and overcast and I really enjoyed the view of the mountains and the lake and the smell of freshly mowed grass. I am going to try and put in two hours a day of mowing before we leave. This includes using the weed wacker for the sides of the slope going down to the lake. Plus it is great exercise. :)

2. Enrolled Rainey for school. We thought she was going to the one down the road but when I put in our address it showed up for the one across the lake. It says she can walk there in 0.19 miles but they are not taking into account the LAKE !!! but we need her to go to the correct school for the bus (not that she is riding the bus but just in case as she gets older). Tom did mention I could take her over  on the snowmachine when the lake freezes which sounds like fun!! how many people can get picked up from school on a snowmachine ?

3. So, besides getting the yard mowed before we go I wanted to move my office into the other area before we leave so it is all clean and ready for when I get home. All my classes are in town this semester and that is going to take up some serious time.

4. We bought Rainey a new bed.  A really cute white twin bed and got her the special kids mattress memory foam thing. I was suprised when I picked it up because the mattress was rolled up and the box spring was in a box folded up and when unfolded turns into the box spring. I just remember all the heavy mattresses and box springs but this worked out great. She picked Doc Mcstuffins for her bedding.

5. I have been able to keep the house somewhat clean and picked up with my list I mentioned before. Today I have everything on my list (plus lots of ironing) and ballet in Eagle River tonight for Miss B. Plus she has an eye appt. this afternoon. When I took her for her K checkup and shots the doctor said that we should have her vision checked just because he thought it was 20/40 and wanted to find out for  sure. I was also going to go get all the stuff on the list for Kindergarten as well as picking up my medicine at Walgreens and the oil needs changing in the Yukon. Just a typical day for Brenda :)
